Nutty Bourbon Brownies

Nutty bourbon brownies – gooey, fudgy brownies with a boozy kick and plenty of crunchy nuts; only for grown-ups!

If you want to leave out the alcohol altogether then just use milk instead.

Ingredients Mixed nuts Butter Dark (semisweet) chocolate Eggs Light brown soft sugar Granulated sugar Bourbon whiskey Vanilla extract All purpose flour Cocoa powder Pinch salt

Let's make Nutty Bourbon Brownies

Step 1

Grease an 8 inch square cake pan and line with a strip of baking parchment, making sure that it overhangs either side so that it is easy to lift the baked brownies out of the pan. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Step 2

Roughly chop half of the nuts, not too small, and set aside.

Step 3

Place the butter and chocolate in a pan over a low heat and stir until melted and smooth. Set aside.

Step 4

Place the eggs and sugars in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until extremely thick and pale and the sugar has almost dissolved.

Step 5

Beat in the chocolate and butter mixture followed by the bourbon and vanilla extract.
