Quick DIY Jewelry Bags
Traveling can be stressful, especially when it comes to packing. Trying to get all of your belongs organized into a suitcase can be very challenging. Packing can be even more difficult when you are putting everything inside of a carry-on suitcase! One area that can be partially difficult is packing jewelry you plan on taking with you on your trip.
You could just toss your jewels into your suitcase, however, this method will leave you searching your entire bag for your favorite necklace. You could also damage your jewelry if it is not stored properly. So, instead of doing the ole’ toss in the bag method, it’s time to protect your jewelry and pack it properly with these easy DIY jewelry bags!
You can place all of your pieces of jewelry in their own separate home. This will keep them organized and prevent them from getting tangled! You could also insert each jewelry bag inside of the outfit you plan on wearing it with for maximum organization!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Fabric Cinch Bags
- Martha Stewart Multi-Surface Paint
- Paint Brush
- Leather Cord
Step 1: Grab your fabric bag and cut out the drawstrings. Once they are cut, give them a tug to pull them out. We are cutting out the drawstrings because we are going to upgrade this bag to some leather pulls!
Step 2: After you cut out your strings, you will add your leather cord to your bag. You will start by placing the end of your leather into one end of your bag.
Step 3: Push your leather through the top of your bag until it comes out on the other side. If your cord is flimsy, you can push a small safety pin through your cord and use that to push your cord through your bag.
Step 4: Push your cord through the opening next to the hole you just pulled the cord through.
Step 5: Continue pushing your cord through your bag until it comes out on the end. You will then trim your cord.
Step 6: Grab your cord again and place it in one of the holes in the opposite side of your bag.
Step 7: Continue pushing your cord through your bag until it comes out the other side.
Step 8: Then, push your cord through the opening next to the hole you just pulled the cord through.
Step 9: Continue pushing your cord through your bag until it comes out on the end. You will then trim your cord.
Step 10: Pull the cords sticking out of your bag to cinch it. Tie a knot on the end of the cords on each side of your bag and trim any excess cord at the end of your knot.
Step 11: Place a piece of cardboard or folded paper inside of your bag.
Step 12: Grab your paint and paint your favorite design on your bag. Once your paint has dried, your bag is ready to house your favorite jewels!
You could even customize your jewelry bags to match your jewelry!
