Staying clean while cooking is so much easier when you can toss on this cute and functional no sew tea towel apron! When it comes to cooking I always make a huge mess.  Even when I try my hardest to be clean and neat as I mix and beat, I always seem to fail. I’ve even started changing my clothes when I cook because I know myself and I know I will get whatever I making on my clothing!

Changing into my “cooking clothes” was starting to become a pain; I didn’t want to change my clothes just to make some brownies! It was time to protect the clothes I was wearing, so I made a functional and cute apron out of a tea towel. What’s great about this project is it doesn’t require any sewing!

Here’s how to create your own no sew tea towel:

Cut the corner of your tea towel. You’re going to start cutting about an inch and a half from the top right corner of your towel.  As you cut, create a curve down the side of your towel.

Take the piece you just cut and lay it on top of the other side of your tea towel. Use this as a guide to cut the other side so both sides are the same size.

Flip over the edge on the right side and add hot glue an inch from the top and stop and inch from the bottom.  Repeat this step on the other side of your apron.

Wrap your string around your neck to find where you want your apron to hit against her chest. Add an inch of length to each side of your string and cut. Place one end of your string in the top opening and glue shut.

Wrap your string around your waist. You’ll want to add enough extra string so you can tie it. Cut your string then fold it in half and cut it again.  Place one end of your strings in the bottom opening you left unglued and glue it shut.

This apron is really simple to make and would be a great housewarming or hostess gift. You can find the perfect tea towel to match anyone’s kitchen decor. What I love most about this apron is it can be tossed in the washing machine, so don’t be afraid to wipe your hands all over it as you cook!
