DIY Mini Bottle Pendant Necklace

Make yourself this cute mini bottle necklace and hide inside your secret message! Because yeah, the tinyer, the most difficult to make, but the damn cuter are shrinked little objects. Even more if they’re dreamy bottles with some secret message!
What am I going to use it for? To write down my objective in life from now till a year. In a year I’m going to completely forget about the message I write to my future self (well, I guess in a month I’ve already forgotten), and then I’ll eventually find again the bottle and in a sparkle of genius I’ll remember about the hidden message and read it to see if I’ve somehow achieved something written in the message.You know the very first and foremost important step to achieving your goals is writing them down? As silly as this could sound, it’s true!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- mini bottle
- necklace chain
- open end pins
- round nose pliers
- lobster clasp
- brush and paint
Start by painting the bottle. I decided to go for ombre yellow: to obtain this effect, just tap with a very dry brush to make a first ring of thick color. Then go ahead to a second ring and use less color and so on. Use paper to take off exceeding quantity of color from the brush.
While the bottle dries, tuck the open end pin into the cork tap and make it come out from the other end. Cut off the exceeding pin and bend the end so it doesn’t slip off.
Next, fix the cork to the middle of the chain. You just have to open the pin’s end, insert into the chain and close it back with the pliers.
Now add a lobster clasp to one end of the chain. Use other open end pins if this helps you join the parts.
Finally, push the cork into the mini bottle. If you feel it may slip off, just add a few drops of instant glue. Oh, and don’t forget to place your secret message in it! Well done, look how cute the thing is! So, have you decided, what are you going to hide inside?
