16. Christmas Advent Calendar Wall Hanging – Large Christmas Wall Art

Christmas advent calendar wall hanging large christmas wall art

Granted, this craft is a bit more difficult to make than the others, since it’s huge (by comparison). If you didn’t figure it out from the example photo, it’s a full-size advent calendar that you hang on your wall and attach gifts for each day that passes!

For this project, you’ll need a big square wooden board that has been painted in your favorite color. Then, simply attach all of the advent calendars’ pieces to it, make sure they’re clearly visible from one another, and hang it up on your Christmas wall!

This might not be as easy as some other projects on our list but if you have experience with DIYs or are just really good at crafts then this should definitely be within your capabilities.

Make sure you secure the wooden board tightly against your wall, as we assume there will be a lot of tugging and pulling to remove the Christmas gifts. You wouldn’t want your wooden board to come off and hurt someone in the middle of Holidays, would you now?

Furthermore, you need to make sure that the gifts are attached steadily to the board, but not entirely impossible to remove.

Last, but not least, make sure not to attach the wooden board to drywall. If the weight of your craft is too large, the drywall may break, or even collapse.

17. Handmade Crochet Wall Art – Christmas Wall Decor Ideas

Handmade crochet wall art christmas wall decor ideas

Crocheting is probably the easiest of all crafting methods, so if you never tried it before then this should be your first project.

All you need to do is to string together three simple crochet stitches (knit stitch, single crochet stitch, double crochet stitch) into one design and then hang it on the wall.

Although crocheting isn’t exactly difficult, you’d still have to know how to do it; unfortunately, we don’t have a crash course on crocheting on this page, so if you’re not comfortable with this craft or lack this skill, feel free to skip this one.

However, if learn crocheting in the meantime, you’re welcome to try it! Crocheting is certainly relaxing, but it’s also an incredibly useful skill that will definitely come in handy at some point or another!

After you create your handmade crochet wall art craft, you can hang it wherever you see fit, including but not limited to your Christmas tree, door, windows, mantelpiece, or even walls.

Your guests will definitely be impressed by your craftsmanship and talent, so don’t be surprised if they ask you to make one for their own home.

18. Red Ornaments & Fir Tree Branch Garland – Christmas Wall Decor

Red ornaments & fir tree branch garland christmas wall decor

When it comes to Christmas wreath wall decor, the color red is the boldest and most prominent of all holiday colors.

If you like spending time decorating, then this DIY craft might be right up your alley. All you need is a fir tree branch (or some other kind of green or festive plant), metal wire for hanging, and red ornaments (we recommend big and/or metallic ones).

You’re welcome to use our example photo as inspiration for your own design; however, we highly encourage creativity and originality – no two wreaths should look exactly the same!

After you string together your ornaments, hang them on the wall (preferably somewhere where they’ll be visible) and enjoy their beauty all season long!

You can even hang several small wreaths together on one thread instead of just one big one.

Last but not least, don’t forget to include a string in your design – it might come in handy when you want to hang up your wreath.

19. Twig Christmas Tree With Decorations – Wall Christmas Tree

Twig christmas tree with decorations wall christmas tree

This craft is а little bit more difficult than the previous one, but you can still attempt it without any problems.

All you need to do is to gather some twigs of various sizes and stick them together in a triangular formation – don’t forget to leave room for your Christmas tree decoration.

After this step, tie the twigs with wire or string so that they stay together. You can use your imagination here – there are no rules, so decorate your “tree” the way you want!

Last but not least, fill the gaps between your twigs with some decorative elements (feathers, dried flowers, etc.) if you have any.

You’re free to use our example photo as inspiration for your own design.

Once you’re done, all that’s left to do is to hang your wall Christmas tree on a fireplace, windowsill, or even door! Since the structure of this craft is very lightweight, it will be able to support itself against any surface – no other elements are required for hanging!

20. Berry Christmas Wreath – Christmas Wall Decor Ideas

Berry christmas wreath christmas wall decor ideas

If you’re a fan of nature and all that is natural, then this DIY project might be the right choice for you.

You’ll need grapevine (or any other kind of plant with small berry-like decorations), wire cutters, and some decorations (silver ornaments, dried flowers, etc.).

First off, disconnect your plant from its base to make it easier to work with. Proceed by using your wire cutters to create a circular shape out of the plant’s vines – simply twist them around each other until they form something like a sphere or ball.

Next up: add in your decorations! You can use anything shiny and sparkly that may remind you of wintertime.

Our example photo includes ribbons and other Christmas tree decorations – feel free to use them if you want, but don’t be afraid to get creative.

Note that the berries will start drying up and some of them could even release some of their juices, so make sure you don’t place them flat against the wall; instead, you can use a wooden slab as support (and to prevent wall stains).

Last but not least, hang your berry Christmas wreath on a wall or door and enjoy the cheerful atmosphere it brings!

21. Advent Calendar On A Stick – Christmas Wood Signs

Advent Calendar On A Stick - Christmas Wood Signs

This DIY project is not only perfect for Christmas, but also for all kinds of other holidays – you can use it as an Advent calendar during December!

You’ll need a large stick (more like a branch than a stick), small envelopes, and a lot of tiny trinkets that would make excellent decorations. For instance, you can have small pieces of candy, message cards, and everything else you could think of.

Place each small trinket inside an envelope, write a number on it, and secure it shut. Now you can either glue some yarn on the back of the envelopes or drive some thread through it (seeing as you’ll need to attach them to the branch).

As far as the branch itself goes, you can either ask someone at your local hardware store for advice – they might have the tools required to cut down a similar-sized branch for you or find one yourself in some nearby park that allows you to pick up fallen branches.

Once everything is set up, all that’s left to do is hang your Advent calendar stick on a wall! Since the stick is rather long and heavy, make sure you attach it securely so that it won’t fall off – again, consult with professionals if necessary!

22. Minimalistic Christmas Lights Arrangement – Christmas Wall Art

Minimalistic christmas lights arrangement christmas wall art

If you’re a fan of minimalism and pale colors, then this is the perfect DIY project for you!

Similar to our previous example photos in terms of simplicity, you’ll need a wooden slab along with a few different types of Christmas lights.

They don’t have to be the same, but make sure not to choose anything too bright or glaring – since everything else will also be white or pale pink, it’s up to you if you want contrasting or similar shades.

First of all: secure your wooden slab onto your wall (or even door!) with nails and screws. Next off: attach your lights accordingly – do not cover the entire backside of the wood piece with them; instead, place them in neat geometric shapes that fit the overall look you’re going for.

We recommend using small fairy lights as they don’t take up too much space and come in a wide variety of different colors – again, if pale pink is your thing, then go for that!

Take a seat and admire your work; even though there’s no snow on the Christmas tree this time around (or any other Christmas paraphernalia), we think it looks nice and cozy enough.

23. Hanging Stars & Wreath – Christmas Wall Hanging

Hanging stars & wreath christmas wall hanging

Stars and wreaths are both excellent decorative items you could place around your house to get it ready to embrace the spirit of this festive holiday.

We know that wreaths can come in two shapes – either flat or three-dimensional, but there’s one more option available – a hanging wreath!

However, instead of hanging it on your door, much like everyone does nowadays, you can hang it straight on your wall. Make sure that it gives a nice contrast so that your guests will notice it without squinting too hard.

For instance, if your walls are painted white, you’ll want a wreath that’s not as bright, so you could go with darker shades such as brown, burgundy, or dark green.

Mix and match the colors if you please; it’s your home after all – plus, depending on how well-lit or dark it is where you live, you might not want anything too loud.

As far as decorations go, we recommend silver stars that can be placed around the wreath wherever there’s an available spot. Just make sure they’re securely attached so that slight drafts in your apartment won’t be able to knock them off the wall.

24. Little Shelf Village – Large Christmas Wall Art

Little shelf village large christmas wall art

This is a decoration that’s sensibly larger than the other ones we’ve described in our guide, so if you don’t have a lot of wall space, maybe you should consider skipping this one.

In the example photos, the suggested shelf is about two feet tall and seven inches wide, but that’s just a suggestion. All you have to do is get a wooden board of similar dimensions and then place it on any wall you deem fit for this project.

The next step is simple enough: cover it with some Christmas lights in different shades of blue and white – if possible, try going with warm colors so that there’ll be a cohesive look throughout your entire apartment!

Now you can either buy pre-made Christmas village houses or try to make them yourself. However, as you’d expect, the latter requires at least some woodworking skills, so it’s really your choice.

Place your Christmas village houses on the same shelves you’ve previously decorated with lights. Note that if the houses are hollow, you could place some of the lights inside the houses as well.

Take note of the fact that every single light bulb needs to shine away from the wall – otherwise, things will end up looking weird. If you’re confused on how exactly to achieve this effect without spending too much time on trial and error, we recommend looking on the Internet for instructions – there should be some out there!

25. Pine Cone & Christmas Lights Garland – Christmas Wall Decor Ideas

Pine cone & christmas lights garland christmas wall decor ideas

Another wall decoration you’d probably want to take into consideration is this one that’s made of pine cones and Christmas lights.

You can get a wire or ribbon (or any other material, for that matter) and wrap it around the outside of your cones so that you get a nice 3-cone bouquet; during this step, make sure you place small pieces of scotch tape on top of each bundle of pinecones so that when you attach them to your wall, everything holds together.

Next, attach the pinecone bundles to a long string so that it resembles a garland. You probably figured where we’re going with this; attach the garland to your wall and voila – you have a nice Christmas decoration for your wall. But wait, there’s more!

Now just take some long strings of lights in different colors – red, green, blue are all excellent choices – and either string them through the pine cone garland or just lay them out on your wall to complement the garland’s aesthetic.

As far as patterns and models go, you could unleash your creativity and create unique ones on your own, or just try to recreate the ones from the example photo above. Whatever works for you should be great!
