Candy Sleigh Holiday Favors

One of the best things about the holiday season is giving away fun favors to your friends and family at parties. Sometimes you need a quick favor idea and perhaps something to do with any candy left over from Halloween for the holidays. Here’s a simple craft using popsicle sticks and candy that you can give away at a kids’ party or give to your coworkers at the office to kick off the Christmas season.

For this DIY, you’ll need:

  • Mini popsicle sticks
  • Hot glue and gun
  • Flat candies of your choice (chocolate bars work best in the fun size)
  • Candy canes
  • Stamp and paper (optional)
  • Ribbon or twine
  • Bows and other embellishments as needed

Materials to create some Christmas Candy Sleigh Holiday Favors

In order to make these candy sleighs you’ll need candy that is wrapped flat, like chocolates. Some of the kinds used here are Crunch bars, Snickers bars and 3 Musketeers bars. You can also use Kit Kats, Milky Ways, or other chocolate bars that are flat, which will help the candies stack properly and stay in tact. If you use a larger chocolate bar for the base, you won’t need to create the popsicle stick base.  Though after Halloween, you’ll probably have more smaller candies than larger ones, so this is a great way to use them up.

First you’ll need to create the base of the sleigh, which the candy will sit on. Lay six popsicle sticks out and three evenly spaced across the top.  Glue the top and bottom sticks together.

Starting in the middle, glue the first layer of chocolate on the popsicle sticks. Starting in the middle ensures that the final product is balanced properly and not leaning or falling to one side or the other.

Begin gluing and stacking the second and third layer of candy creating a pyramid.

Christmas Candy Sleigh Holiday Favors - name tag

Create a name tag for your sleigh using a stamp and cardstock if you want it to be extra special. Clip it to the edge of the twine at the top.
